Bob Josephson
Bob grew up in Hartford, CT, and attended college in Ohio. After college, he returned to Connecticut to work for Aetna Life Insurance Company, following in the footsteps of his father, uncle, and grandfather. At age 25, he realized he had only 40 more years at Aetna before retirement. Yikes! Bob moved to the North Country in 1975, milking a few cows on his small farm in Waddington and selling the milk to the Plumbrook Amish Cheese factory and to Birdsfoot Farm Yogurt. Small scale dairying didn’t really pay enough to support his family, so he began repairing home appliances. After a few years he switched to repairing copiers. In 1985, he went to work for Sullivan’s Office Supply in Massena, where he continued until starting with the Coop. Bob lives in DeKalb with his wife, Kathleen Fitzgerald. They have two grown children and two grandchildren. When not at work, Bob enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, including vegetable gardening, XC skiing, softball, frisbee, canoeing, and hiking.
Bob loves the Co-op and the North Country because of all the wonderful people who call this incredibly beautiful place home. Bob Josephson became the Coop’s General Manager Monday, November 1, 2008.
