Join the Potsdam Food Co-op Board of Directors!

About Board Service

In general, the Board is responsible for the viability of the Co-op. The Board evaluates and approves the Co-op Budget, evaluates the General Manager’s performance, sets goals and objectives for the Co-op and makes sure the Co-op continues to operate in accordance with and in the spirit of its mission and by-laws.

Board members are expected to attend and participate in monthly 2-hour Board meetings (held on the last Tuesday of each month), along with annual events hosted by the Board: including the Co-op Annual Meeting, periodic member/owner potlucks, a staff appreciation party, and the Co-op Open House.

The Board accomplishes a great deal of work in committees and expects each member to participate in at least one committee. Currently the Board has the following standing committees:  Executive, Finance, Nominating/Governance, Education/Outreach. There is also a Buildings and Grounds Committee under the General Manager’s Leadership.

Board Member Questionnaire

Tell the Membership about Yourself

  • Please put together a brief bio about yourself, what you bring to the Board that will help Co-op Membership get to know you, and assess your capability to serve on its Board of Directors.  By completing this, you are consenting to have a synopsis published on the Co-op website, in the Co-op Newsletter, and at the Co-op, before the annual election of the Board of Directors and during your tenure on the Board.

    • When you are composing your brief biography, please think about these questions:

      • How long have you been a Co-op member?

      • What opportunities have you had to be involved in the Co-op?

      • Why have you chosen to run for a seat on the Board of Directors?

      • What interests, skill and talents will you bring to the Board of Directors?

      • What do you appreciate most about the Co-op? What do you think is working well?

      • What do you think is missing, or isn’t working, at the Co-op?

  • Please provide a digital head-shot photo of yourself, which will also be posted.
