BIO: Alex Jones

Current Position: Class E (Staff) Board Member / Front End Cashier & Wellness Buyer

My name is Alexandra Jones. I’m 24 years old, born and raised in Potsdam, NY. I have had the privilege of working as a cashier at the Co-op for the past eight months. This experience has given me a balanced perspective. As a newcomer, I am eager to introduce innovative ideas while being experienced enough to grasp the intricacies of this business.

My passions lie in effective communication, creativity and ingenuity, business and marketing, community engagement, and social journalism. I am dedicated to exploring diverse viewpoints on current issues and topics, ensuring that decisions are well-rounded and free from personal bias. 

I am reliable, open-minded, adaptable, and always thinking strategically, which will assist in this role of balancing both immediate needs and long-term goals.

I am inspired by this workplace. Witnessing the dedication, hard work, democratic, and sustainable efforts of the Co-op and its staff, I am passionate about aiding in the enhancement of our community and having a deeper understanding of the needs and wants of both the people and the business to drive our growth.

What we need now is an internal advocate on the Board to help bring these ideas to fruition and to create more stability for the longevity of this organization and for those who put their all into making it happen. I am excited about the opportunity to be that voice and help the Co-op and its community thrive!
