Current Position: Board Member

A North Country native with roots going back to the 1840’s. I work in the electric industry as well as self-employed property maintenance, and have served in many different volunteer organizations over the years. My family and I strive to live sustainably, and I’m a big fan of Joel Salatin.

The Co-op even brings back childhood memories, the pleasant smell of the herbs, spices and fresh foods – and while I’ve shopped here for a long time, I finally became a member for the first time less than a year ago. I appreciate the opportunity to serve on the Buildings and Grounds Committee for the betterment of the organization, and as a board member I plan to look out for our finances and make sure that our future looks positive, correcting course when needed. The improved sign out front is a great welcome to new customers, and we can continue to look for more creative ways to invite people from the greater area to try us out.

The Co-op provides an important outlet for local producers, and I would like to see that become even more of a focus in the coming years. The personal and small-town feel of the place is a strength that a lot of customers enjoy. While this is a time of change and our building is needing maintenance, I believe it should be saved and has many unique qualities like its woodwork and Potsdam sandstone foundation that are irreplaceable. I also believe the board can work together to find the best possible path forward.
